To find that one literary agent who can shop my next book to a publisher, I have to create a book proposal. That process in and of itself is a daunting task, and at times it seems even harder than writing the actual book itself. But with that being said, I'm working on it diligently. One section is called the author's platform. It seems the publishing industry has embraced social media, and they want to know if a prospective client actually has the potential to sell books. So I've started building my platform so I can include it in my proposal. I started it much earlier by creating my author Facebook page, and I'm pleased to say that I have nearly 2500 followers. Twitter is another story, but I'm working on it. Additionally, in all the research I've seen, an email subscription list is a must, so I've started that also. I was a little surprised when I had over 150 initial subscribers. I hope that list continues to grow. I've offered some incentive for subscribers, including a free signed book to a lucky winner on the first day of each month, so if you're looking for a chance to win a free copy of A Slayer Waits, or To Hell I Must Go, head on over to my contact page and submit your email. Please feel free to share with your friends also. I'd like to see my email subscription list grow by leaps and bounds.
