An Author's Blog
Updated: Nov 5, 2017
I'm not sure of the blog's origin, thus, I wasn't even sure what a blog was. After a quick check of the definition, I guess I'm comfortable with doing one now. So as I kick this website off, I'll try to add to my author's blog as often as I can. So, what do I write about. I guess I'll add my experiences from writing my first two books, and the new experiences I'm discovering as I write my third. I'm pretty certain I've got enough material.
I've discovered something about doing book signings. While selling books is great, and that's what we all strive for as authors, I find that meeting people is true enjoyment at these events. Inevitably, someone will approach me and tell me their connection to the 'true-crime' story I've written about.
In my latest book 'A Slayer Waits', I was at an event in Stockbridge when an elderly woman came up to purchase a book. While she was 94, she look as if she was about 75. She couldn't wait to get the book, and she remembered when it had happened in 1955. Even more impressive was another woman who told me her 66-year-old remembered the night after Howard and Myra Herrick's bodies were found and how frightened she was.
As I write these true-crime stories, I often wonder if anyone will be interested in reading them. I guess that question has been answered.
